We acknowledge that the land we live, work, and play on is the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, which is presently subject to Treaties 6, 7, and 8. These include the Blackfoot Confederacy (Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika), the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda, the Tsuu T’ina Nation, and the Métis People of Alberta. This also encompasses the Métis Settlements and the Six Regions of the Métis Nation of Alberta within the historical Northwest Metis Homeland. We acknowledge the profound connection and stewardship of the land by the many generations of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples.

White settlers are guests on this land and have benefited from the historical and ongoing oppression of Indigenous Peoples. ANCHR is committed to acknowledging and challenging the harmful drug policies that continue to disproportionately impact Indigenous Peoples.
